This provides an update to our February 21st, 2010 statement.
On February 25, 2010, Wholesome Spice announced that it is recalling from customers certain lots of its crushed red pepper because of possible Salmonella contamination. Per the FDA, this appears to be the result of confirmed test results by the FDA and the State of Rhode Island.
Extensive FDA testing of both crushed and ground red pepper samples taken at Mincing's and Daniele's Inc., facilities have yielded no positive Salmonella results by the FDA to date. Additionally, Mincing's products are not included in the recall announced by the FDA and Wholesome Spice on February 25, 2010.
The safety and quality of our products is our top priority. Mincing's carefully monitored plant manufacturing environment and our rigorous bulk and finished product testing assures that these products meet the highest standards.
Thank you for your continued trust in Mincing overseas spice company.
