Following the recall of pepper-coated salami products by Rhode Island based Daniele, Inc., the FDA is examining several different possibilities to determine the source of Salmonella detected in Daniele's products. To date, the FDA has tested 240 sub-samples of black pepper from Mincing: all have tested negative for Salmonella. In addition, the FDA has conducted and evaluated 93 environmental samples from our Dayton, NJ facility, also with negative results. Our own testing confirms the FDA's findings of negative results on all samples. Currently, the only confirmed positive test on black pepper has been taken from an open container at Daniele's facility. The positive result reported by Daniele, Inc. and the Rhode Island Department of Health are yet to be confirmed through independent FDA sampling and testing.
In addition, the FDA has taken samples of crushed red pepper from Daniele's facility, from Mincing and from another supplier as a result of a positive test on a crushed red pepper sample taken by Danielle in its facility, with the testing performed by a private lab. Given the possibility of cross-contamination at Daniele's facility, we await the results of more extensive FDA testing to determine the legitimacy of this result. We expect the FDA to provide results in the coming days, and will update you as more information becomes available.
We are fully cooperating with the FDA's investigation . The safety and quality of our products is our top priority. Mincing's carefully monitored plant manufacturing environment and our rigorous bulk and finished product testing assures that these products meet the highest standards.
Thank you for your continued trust in Mincing overseas spice company.
